Merchant, date, total, tax and a suggested category, extracted by Apple's on-device recognition. No network is used, and none is needed.

Every scan opens a review sheet with anything uncertain marked for your eye. Nothing enters the ledger until you say so.

Nothing you photograph leaves this phone.

Folio has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking. There is no endpoint anywhere that accepts a receipt, an amount, a merchant name or an image — and there is not going to be one. It is the first line of the specification, not a setting.

The app does talk to one server. This is the whole of it.

Read on the device

Apple Vision does the recognition, and on an iPhone with Apple Intelligence a local model helps with the awkward layouts. Neither one sends anything anywhere.

A total that is really printed

Folio refuses any amount it cannot find on the receipt, digit for digit. A scanner that quietly invents a number is worse than no scanner at all.

The ledger

Months, search, and filters by category, date, business or personal, and payment method. A receipt you have already filed is caught before you file it twice.

Any currency

A foreign receipt converts at the day's rate, and both the rate and its date are stored with the entry — so the report you print next year still says the same thing.

A zip to Files whenever you want, and an automatic copy into your own iCloud Drive. Folio has no storage of its own to put anything in.

Retention periods per country, the UK's quarterly MTD periods, and a GoBD audit trail with the German process documentation beside it.

Import a bank or card statement and Folio shows the charges with no receipt behind them. The file is read on the device; nothing is uploaded.

Export is a right, not a feature. CSV works on the free tier and always will: your ledger is yours whether you pay or not.

Sorular

Does it work offline?

Entirely. Reading a receipt uses no network at all. The server is asked only for parsing rules and exchange rates, and the app keeps working without either.

Do I need an account?

No, and there is not one to make. Nothing to sign in to, nothing to be locked out of, nothing to delete later.

What if Folio reads something wrong?

You see it before it is filed. Every scan opens a review sheet, and anything Folio is unsure of is marked. Your corrections teach the device, not a server.

Where do the exchange rates come from?

The European Central Bank's daily reference rates. Folio's server fetches them and passes them on as plain public data; the conversion happens on your phone.

Can I get my data out?

Any time. CSV on every tier, XLSX and PDF with Pro, and a full backup zip that restores onto a new phone.

Which countries does it know?

Parsing rules ship for the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and Türkiye at launch. A receipt from anywhere else still scans — the rules only make the first guess better.

Çevrimdışı çalışıyor mu?
